Short Courses & In-house Training Programs

The Asset Management College is able to offer a number of specialist Asset Management short courses, including the Asset Management Council of Australia’s “Asset Management Fundamentals” which provides pre-cursor knowledge for the Asset Management Council’s Asset Management Certification Scheme.

All of the College’s courses can be offered either as public or “in-house’ and can be tailored according to regional, national or industry requirements.

Overview of Asset Management

A three hour briefing for Executives and Boards on “Asset Management” and the competitive advantage the discipline provides.

 

The Fundamentals of Asset Management and ISO 55001

A one day course that is based on the AM Council Fundamentals Course (which we can also deliver under licence) but expanded to cover ISO55001 key components.

Defensible Maintenance (OPEX) Budgets

A four-day course aimed at enabling asset management professionals develop defensible maintenance (OPEX) budgets – where defensible means the ability to demonstrate the relationship between cost (maintenance) and risk (safety, environmental, reputational and asset performance).

Asset Management Culture

A three day workshop aimed at providing knowledge and information to enable key personnel to set the AM Vision for their organisation, understand what good AM looks like for their stakeholders, understand the changes that need to be made to achieve that AM Vision, writing up the plan and preparing for the SAMP, understand AM Culture, creating a draft Engagement and Communications Plan.

Develop the requirements for a Strategic Asset Management Plan

A two-day course/workshop for senior management and other key personnel who will be responsible for producing the organisational Strategic Asset Management Plan.

Prepare and Review a Strategic Asset Management Plan

A three day course/workshop for Asset Management team members and other key personnel who will be responsible for producing the organisational Strategic Asset Management Plan.  This course includes the application of Systems Engineering Principles.

Develop the requirements for Asset Management Plans

A two-day course/workshop for senior management and other key personnel who will be responsible for producing Asset Management Plans.

Prepare and Review Asset Management Plans

A two day course for Asset Management team members and other key personnel who will be responsible for producing Asset Management Plans.

Prepare and Review Configuration Management Plans

A two day course for Asset Management team members who will be responsible for producing Configuration Management Plans.

Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis and Maintenance Requirements Analysis

A two day course for Management team members and other key personnel who will be analysing the current maintenance tasks and developing a risk based maintenance regime that is effective and appropriate within the applicable business context.  The course can be followed by an optional facilitated workshop (highly recommended).

Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Elements of Asset Management

A one day course covering the logistic support aspects of Asset Management and their implementation within Asset Management Plans.

Prepare and Review System Engineering Management Plans

A two-day course for senior asset management professionals who will be responsible for the processes associated with the Asset Management System.

Maintenance Requirements Analysis

A four-day course for maintenance/reliability/financial team members who will be developing, analysing and approving maintenance tasks – based upon developing a risk based maintenance regime effective and appropriate within the applicable business context.  The MRA Course is based upon FMECA, RCM, Task Analysis, Task Packaging and Job Safety Analyses techniques.  The course can be followed by an optional facilitated on site workshop (highly recommended).

ISO Implementation Awareness Course

A three-day course aimed at providing knowledge and information to enable key personnel (involved in or considering the implementation of, ISO 55001 into their organisations) understand the specific requirements of ISO 55001 within the context of their organisation.

ISO Implementation Course

A two-day course aimed at asset management professionals who both need to know about the requirements of ISO 55001 Certification and who want to develop a business case for ISO Certification within a business context.

Data, Information. Knowledge and Wisdom (Master Data Management and Governance)

A two day course aimed at providing knowledge and information to enable key personnel to understand the specific requirements of; data structure, business object information, the relationships between the two, master data management as it relates to configuration management, data governance as part of a change journey, data harmonisation across multiple sites, data harmonisation strategies for brownfield sites, moving from batch and interfacing into integration.

Bespoke Asset Management Competency Training

This training package has been developed for a mining client and includes overlapping modules that focus on:

  • Asset Management Execution (quarterly and weekly plans)
  • Asset Management Continual Improvement
  • Achievement of Reliability
  • Maintenance Plan Development (FMECA, RCM, LORA – what maintenance to do)
  • Financial Planning and Reporting (OPEX, CAPEX, Repair vs Replace decisions)
  • Risk Based Decision Making (introduce concepts of risk & probability)
